I would not be at all surprised if this kid, and anyone else involved in the
prank, were offered jobs.  In the past, people who have broken security on
DoD computers, phone phreaks, etc., have been offered jobs by companies who
are interested in learning what they did, how it can be stopped, and in
general how to better secure systems.
