In ftpd.c, I have something like this:

===
int     logging;
...
        argc--, argv++;
        while (argc > 0 && *argv[0] == '-') {
                for (cp = &argv[0][1]; *cp; cp++) switch (*cp) {
...
                case 'l':
                        logging = 1;
                        break;
===

In inetd.conf, I have something like this:

ftp stream tcp nowait /etc/ftpd ftpd -l -a

The "-l" flag seems to be present in the 4.3-tahoe version, which was the
basis for the one that Keith recently sent out. (I.e., Keith's version has
it also.)

Summary: if you want logging, use "-l" in inetd.conf.
