The worlds authority on the number of Internet hosts is Mark Lottor,
mkl@sri-nic.arpa, who has the (TOPS-20) program called ZONE which walks
through the domain tree (all or any part of it).  Mark's latest run before
the recent IETF meeting was about 60,000 Internet hosts.  He also has
a breakdown on the numbers of differnt CPU's, OS, etc.
